Blue diamond rings

Usually people think that diamonds come only in one color. But that's not true, diamond come in a variety of colors and sizes. Colorful diamonds are rarer than white diamonds and hence are more expensive than white ones. Blue shade can vary from just a hint of blue to beautiful deep blue. These diamonds are not usually found due to their huge prices. The blue shade in blue diamonds is due to traces of boron or hydrogen in the diamonds.

Diamonds with deep blue colors are most desirable. These are usually termed as "the fancy diamonds" by elite jewelers. As the shade of blue increases the quality of the gem and hence the price of the diamond increases.

Another cost effective way of owning a blue diamond ring is to pair a blue diamond with a white one. Rings that have a blue diamond between two white diamonds are a unique piece of jewelry. A Topaz can also be used in place of blue diamond but it should be remembered that a topaz is a replacement for a diamond and not a diamond itself.
